2008
Annual Meeting
On Saturday, May 24, Friends of Steele Creek Nature Center
and Park held its annual membership meeting at the Park. The
meeting was attended by about 20 enthusiastic members.
After welcoming the attendees, President Sue Marschalk
presented a report of the organization's accomplishments and
activities for the past year (available here.)
Election of new Board members followed. The size of
the Board for the coming year was set at 18 maximum. The
following individuals were then elected to serve three year terms
beginning in July:
Sue King-Marschalk (reelected)
Chris Adams
Rack Cross
Michele Sparks
Glenn Vance
Terry Napier, Director of Bristol Tennessee Leisure Services
then gave an update of all of the improvements and other
activities going on at the Park. This past year has been a busy
one for park improvements, and the coming year promises to be even
busier. The big news is the Nature Center expansion which
appears to be on track for next year. Assuming it comes to
fruition, Friends will be busy helping to raise additional funds
for exhibits, and working with Jeremy, Terry, and the other city
staff to assure that it becomes the premier nature center in the
region!
