MOUNTAIN EMPIRE BUTTERFLY CLUB

The Mountain Empire Butterfly Club was established at an organizational meeting on January 6, 2008, at Steele Creek Park in Bristol, TN. The club was created to sponsor fieldtrips, programs, and occasional meetings. We won’t be limited to butterflies; moths, dragonflies, damselflies and whatever will also be of interest. A set of officers was elected at the organizational meeting, and we are now recruiting members. At this time there are no membership dues. The club may go in any of a number of directions. One possibility is for it to become a chapter of a national organization.

Larry McDaniel has created a group e-mail list for anyone wishing to be on it. Its purpose is to keep people informed of developments and upcoming events. They have agreed to use the Butternut list serve as a means to report sightings for the time being. If you would like more detailed information about the Butterfly Club, or if you would like to be included on the e-mail list, contact Larry at larrycmcd@hotmail.com.

In addition, for the time being this web site will be used to provide information about upcoming events and other news of the organization.
